So, pretty much every other working girl in New York has a nylon Longchamp Le Pliage tote, and there's nothing wrong with it. It's functional, spacious, and goes with everything. DIY At-Home Manicure Essentials

Revlon Crazy Shine Nail buffers get nails super shiny after only a few swipes.

Using a base coat keeps your nails from getting discolored from darker polishes. A top coat adds shine and helps prevent your polish from chipping. This Sally Hansen product does both.

Trim your softened, pushed back cuticles with nippers.

A fine-grain nail file like this one from Sephora helps round out your nails.

A great cuticle pusher like this one from Tweezerman is a helpful tool to push back/scrape cuticles after you've softened them.

Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover softens cuticles so you can push them back and clip them. A lot of nail salons will only push your cuticles back, leaving you in need of another mani once they return.

Since I like to change the color of my nails at least once a week and am on a budget, I do them at home. I've tested tons of different drugstore products for getting the best DIY manicure possible. Here are my favorites.

I'm in love with my new American Apparel socks. Getting dressed for work this week I came to the realization that all of my socks are worn out and/or really quite gross. Shopping for socks is not exactly appealing, but I got it together and was up for the challenge. American Apparel makes these very nice calf-high socks that come in neon colors, although I really should stick to buying black so they always match. If you buy three of any of the same item at AA you get a 15% discount. If you want to purchase these in the store they are found in the mens' section.

As a city dweller, I carry the following around with me on any given workday:

makeup bag
wallet
phone
keys
work ID/Metrocard in a separate holder
large bottle of water
a novel
snack
notebook
textbook for my night class

and so on. I usually stop at the drugstore or grocery store on my way home and I like to put whatever I bought in my bag as well. I see women all the time with teeny tiny little purses. How do they do it? Many of us carry an extra canvas tote with us as well, presumably with gym clothes or a brown bag lunch, but there are many women who travel light.Then for going out I see lots of women who carry nothing but a tiny wristlet, and I envy them as they are free to dance and drink as they please while I require a babysitter for my speedy 35 bag if I want to dance - and freak out when the bar's bathroom doesn't have any hooks.

Just the thought of having to condense my possessions into a clutch gives me severe anxiety. That's why I love big. ass. bags: a giant tote that fits everything. Being a taller girl, I think carrying a tiny bag looks riduclous for me anyway, the same way it looks silly when petite women carry gigantic totes. I need something proportional.

I was browsing Coach's website recently and discovered an untapped handbag goldmine: the men's section. There are business bags, weekend totes, etc., in monogrammable and classic black and brown leather. While I would appreciate a more feminine assortment, I finally found a large, stylish bag i like. Here is an assortment of my favorite big. ass. bags.

Roman Zolanski, Nicki Minaj's alter ego, isn't the only person who feels pretty in this lipstick! I tested it out at the store next weekend and the shade is gorgeous - not too neon and not too light. I love the pink Nicki always wears on her lips. There's such a difference in how she looked before she was famous and her more modern look that she describes as "harajuku barbie."
